March 11, 2010 Meeting - Mobile Computing: Where Will We Be in Five Years?

The next meeting of the CJRLC Technology Group will take place on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Princeton Public Library in the first floor community room. The meeting will run from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.

Mobile computing is one of the hottest topics in librarianship right now. Statistics indicate that smartphones are very popular, enabling individuals to browse the web, text, take and send pictures, chat and customize their phones to an extent never before possible. What impact will the mobile computing explosion have on libraries? How can libraries connect with customers through this new empowerment? John LeMasney, Manager of Technology Training at Rider University, will join us to talk about “Mobile Computing: Where Will We Be in Five Years?” John is well versed in technology and is an open source evangelist and open web advocate as well. His presentation will help you to plan your library’s mobile technology strategy for the foreseeable future.

We have our finger on the pulse of current technology! CJRLC Technology Group meetings are free and open to all attendees. Meet and network with other like-minded librarians from around the region. Bring your new tech ideas, discoveries and tips to share with other group members.

More information about how to get to the Princeton Public Library can be found here. We hope you will join us!
